Connect Instagram Business via Facebook

Link your Instagram Business or Creator account to Sindria using the Facebook integration (Recommended method).

Prerequisites

  • An Instagram account switched to a Professional (Business or Creator) profile.
  • A Facebook Page (if you don't have one, you can create it in Facebook).
  • The Instagram account must be linked to the Facebook Page.
  • You must be an Administrator of that Facebook Page.

Implementation Steps

1

Switch to an Instagram Professional Profile

Open the Instagram app on your mobile device. Go to your Profile > Settings & Privacy > Account Type and Tools, and select 'Switch to Professional Account'. Choose 'Business' or 'Creator' (Personal accounts are not supported by the Meta API).

2

Create or Verify Your Facebook Page

Open Facebook and navigate to Pages. If you do not have a business page, click 'Create New Page'. Ensure you are logged in as an Admin of this page.

3

Link Instagram to Your Facebook Page

In your Facebook Page settings, click 'Linked Accounts' (or settings in Meta Business Suite). Choose 'Instagram' and click 'Connect Account'. Log in with your Instagram credentials to confirm the link.

4

Authorize Sindria via Facebook

In the Sindria App, go to settings and select 'Connect with Facebook' (Method A). Meta will open a pop-up window. Choose the Facebook Page and the linked Instagram account you want to connect. Accept all permissions to avoid connection failures.

5

Enable for Planning

Check the Instagram box or toggle the option in the social networks section so it gets automatically included in your next monthly content planning. Remember that you can always manually customize the target networks for each individual post.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a Facebook Page to connect Instagram?
Meta's API design links professional Instagram Business profiles to Facebook Pages for security and management purposes. To publish posts automatically through third-party apps like Sindria, Meta requires accessing the profile via its linked Facebook Page.
My Facebook page does not appear in the connection list. What should I do?
Ensure your personal Facebook account has the 'Admin' or 'Full Control' role on the Facebook page. If you recently linked them, it might take a few minutes. Also, make sure you don't restrict permissions when authorizing the Meta pop-up.
